About AIRupee
Why I started this
I was 30, earning well, and had no idea where my money went. My salary hit the account on the 1st. By the 10th, I was wondering why my savings hadn’t moved. I had a PPF account my dad opened, a random SIP I started because a colleague mentioned it, and a health insurance policy I didn’t fully understand.
I read the finance blogs. “Save 50% of your income.” “Start an emergency fund.” “Invest in index funds.” All true. All useless without context.
None of them told me how to actually read my salary slip. None explained why my TDS was wrong under the new tax regime. None broke down whether I should prepay my home loan or invest the surplus. And when I searched for “best health insurance for 25-year-old in India,” every article was a comparison table with affiliate links and no real analysis.
So I started writing what I actually needed: personal finance for young Indian professionals who are smart enough to learn this stuff, but busy enough to need it explained like a human being.
What AIRupee covers
Taxes
Not “5 ways to save tax.” Actual regime comparisons, rebate mechanics, capital gains timing, and the stuff HR doesn’t explain. I flag what’s changed in the latest Budget and what’s still valid.
Investing
Mutual funds, stocks, PPF, NPS, debt instruments — explained with real numbers, not motivational quotes. I tell you when an 8% post office scheme beats an equity SIP (yes, it happens).
Insurance
Health, term life, motor — the policies you actually need, not the ones agents push. I explain riders, claim ratios, and why “₹1 crore term cover” is not always the right answer.
Career & Money
Salary negotiation, ESOPs, switching jobs without tax surprises, freelance income, side hustles. The intersection of what you earn and how you keep it.
Banking & Credit
Credit cards that actually reward you, loan prepayment math, CIBIL scores, and why your “zero-interest” EMI isn’t zero.

What I’m not
I’m not a CA. I’m not a SEBI-registered investment advisor. I’m not affiliated with any bank, AMC, insurance company, or fintech app.
What I am: someone who’s made enough tax, investment, and insurance mistakes to know what not to do. I read RBI circulars, Budget speeches, and policy documents so you don’t have to — but I always flag when you should verify with a professional.
Who this is for
Young Indian professionals, early-to-mid career, earning ₹6-30 lakh, living in Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, or anywhere the rent eats half your salary.
You don’t need to be a finance expert. You just need to stop losing money to things you didn’t know about.
